Abstract : The study is descriptive research. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning problems and needs for help in Fundamentals of Nursing course in the Second Year Nursing students at the Faculty of Nursing Ubon Ratchathani University. The sample was 58 nursing students in the academic year 2010. The learning problems and needs for help were identified using open-ended questionnaires and in-depth interviews. The results indicated that learning problems were related to three factors. Factor 1: Instruction, and environment of learning ,not enough learning support, and a non learning atmosphere in the classrooms. Factor 2: Learning problems caused by knowledge and practice skill. Factor 3: Learning problems of students involving slow learning participation and unsuitability of learning behavior. Four needs were identified to enhance the problem solving among students. The first was to create a suitable examination. Second was to improve learning support. Third was to develop a supportive system such as computer lab and library. The fourth was to change the learning methods. Conclusions: The research results can be applied as a guideline for instructors to develop a plan of learning management that can solve the learning problems of students and support students'' needs.
